Is Norwich University accredited?
Yes. Norwich is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The same regional accreditor as Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Dartmouth. Individual programs carry additional professional accreditation, including ACBSP for the MBA, CCNE for nursing, and an NSA/DHS designation as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.

Are Norwich's online programs fully online?
Coursework is delivered 100% online, with 24/7 access to the learning platform so you can engage with course material and class discussions at any time, from any location. A small number of programs include an on-campus or clinical component; the Master of Science in Nursing includes a one-week residency and local clinical placements, for example, and those requirements are listed on each program page.

When can I start?
Master's programs begin four times a year and bachelor's programs have six starts, with graduate certificate sessions on their own schedule. Applications are due ten days before each session begins.

Can I transfer credits I've already earned?
Yes. Master's students may transfer up to 12 graduate credits on a case-by-case basis. Bachelor's students may transfer up to 90 credits from previous coursework, professional certifications, CLEP exams, and military or career training, and associate students up to 45. Submit your transcripts when you apply and we'll review everything you've completed.

Do I need to take the GRE or GMAT?
No. Norwich's graduate programs do not require GRE or GMAT scores for admission.

How long will my degree take?
Most master's degrees take about 18 months. Bachelor's degrees take about 24 months. Courses run for 11 weeks and you take one at a time, so you can focus completely on a single subject rather than splitting attention across several. Transferring in credits can shorten your timeline further.

Are there tuition discounts for military and first responders?
Yes. Norwich offers discounted tuition rates for first responders, military personnel, military spouses, and veterans in honor of their service.

What if I'm not ready to commit to a full degree?
Start with a graduate certificate. Most can be completed in about six months, and the 12 graduate credits you earn apply directly toward the corresponding master's degree, so nothing you complete goes to waste if you decide to continue.
