Applying for Norwich Programs from Across the Globe

Through Norwich University’s online learning platform, students from around the world can participate in our graduate and continuing education programs regardless of their location, time zone, or schedule. To apply to a Norwich online program, international students must complete a special set of admissions requirements in addition to their program-specific admissions requirements.

The international student requirements for Norwich admission are as follows:

  1. Speak with one of our admissions advisors. This will give you an opportunity to ask questions about Norwich and the program in which you are interested. This interview will also help determine if you have the necessary credentials to enroll in your chosen program. Your advisor will also outline the steps required to complete your application package.
  2. Complete the application. You can complete the application form with your admissions advisor.
  3. Submit an English proficiency assessment. If English is not your first language, proof of English language proficiency is required. This can be demonstrated in one of three ways:
    • TOEFL - a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 80 (Internet-based test) is required.
    • IELTS – a minimum composite score of 6.5 is required.
    • The applicant holds an associate, baccalaureate or master’s degree from a college/university/institution in which the primary language of instruction was English. Official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be sent directly to Norwich by the Educational Testing Service. A minimum score may be required for your program. Students who need to take the test should contact TOEFL, Educational Testing Service, Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151, USA. The Norwich University TOEFL school code is 3669.
  4. Official transcripts from international institutions must be evaluated by an approved third-party service provider to determine equivalency to a bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited U.S. institution, or equivalent degree from a foreign institution, as evaluated by WES, IERF, or SpanTran with the exception of the following:
    • Official English-language transcripts from any Canadian institution approved by CICIC.

Any request for consideration of international credit must include a third-party course-by-course evaluation from an approved service provider.
