Vulnerability Management

This certificate offering is an opportunity to dive deep into the fundamentals of penetration testing and gain hands-on experience through a virtual lab and exercises. You will learn how to use the powerful Metasploit computer security project to understand security vulnerabilities, conduct penetration testing, test control tools, and monitor enterprise systems. In addition, you will be introduced to system security and vulnerability analysis, as well as the most common system exploits and vulnerabilities, system “pivoting,” and client-side exploits. 

You will develop the skills to assess enterprise security controls and system vulnerabilities and accurately document your findings. Furthermore, you will learn how to conduct legal and ethical security tests and vulnerability assessments using well-known open-source tools such as Metasploit, John the Ripper, and Wireshark. This certificate is the perfect pathway for those who aspire to become skilled penetration testers, system security experts, and network administrators.
 

By taking this certificate along with the Cyber Basics and Human Aspects & Analytics certificates, you can apply to the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program and earn your M.S. degree. Contact the program director for more information.
 

Program Specific Admission Requirements

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, as evaluated by WES, IERF, or SpanTran.

Earn a B (minimum of 3.0) in the following:
GI562 - Vulnerability Management and Penetration Testing I
GI563 - Vulnerability Management II
