Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What do I need to apply?

For a bachelor's: the online application, plus official transcripts from any regionally accredited college you have attended. If you have served, send your Joint Services Transcript or CCAF transcript too. If you have no college or military credit, we need proof of high school completion, a diploma or a GED.

For a master's: the online application, plus an official transcript showing your undergraduate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited university.

Either way, add a resume if you want your training and work experience assessed for credit, and check your program page for anything specific to it.

    Talk to Admissions

  1. Is there an application fee?

No, there is no application fee. Apply for free.

  1. How soon will I hear back?

Within four business days of your completed application package. "Completed" is the operative word: the clock starts once your transcripts are in, not when you submit the form.

  1. How do I send my transcripts?

Have them sent to Norwich University, ATTN: CGCS, 158 Harmon Drive, Northfield, VT 05663. If your institution can send them electronically, ask your admissions counselor first so we can tell you where to direct them.

  1. Do I need to take a test?

No. There is no GRE or GMAT requirement for our undergraduate programs, and no minimum GPA. If English is not your first language, you will need to show proficiency, and your admissions counselor will walk you through the options.

  1. How many credits can I transfer, and how do I find out what mine are worth?

Up to 90 credits toward a bachelor's degree. Master's transfer is more limited and depends on the program; the max transfer for the Master's is 12 credits.

At either level you do not need to apply to find out. Send a transcript and a resume and we will assess them first, so you know what remains and how many terms that is before you commit to anything.

  1. Can my work experience or certifications count?

Often, yes, and more generously at the undergraduate level. The American Council on Education reviews military training for semester credit, and it can assess professional certifications and documented prior learning against specific course requirements. Send the details and ask.

  1. When can I start?

Bachelor's programs have six start dates a year and master's programs have four, so the wait is usually weeks rather than a semester. Your admissions counselor will tell you the next session you can realistically make.
