Human Aspects & Analytics

The Human Aspects & Analytics certificate is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the human factors related to cybersecurity and the analytics used to measure cybersecurity effectiveness in relation to business processes deep into the fundamentals of penetration testing and gain hands-on experience through a virtual lab and exercises.

This certificate program is a comprehensive overview of the human factors related to cybersecurity and the analytics used to measure cybersecurity effectiveness in relation to business processes. The topics covered in this overview include security awareness as a component of organizational culture, the process of crafting an information assurance message, ethical decision-making as a factor in security, social psychology and how behaviors influence the effectiveness of security activities, the use of employment practices and policies to support information security, the creation of acceptable use and email policies, the use of analytics in terms of both metrics and measuring business impact, and problem-solving and project management techniques and alternatives.

When the Human Aspects and Analytics certificate is taken along with the Cyber Basics certificate and one of the following certificates: Computer Forensic Investigation/Incident Response Team Management, Critical Infrastructure Protection & Cyber Crime, Cyber Law & International Perspectives on Cyberspace, Vulnerability Management, Project Management, or Procurement & Government Contract Management,, the student can apply to the Master of Science, Cybersecurity program to be awarded the M.S. degree. Program Specific Admission Requirements

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, as evaluated by WES, IERF, or SpanTran.

Certificate Requirements

Earn a B (minimum of 3.0) in the following:
GI532 - Human Factors and Managing Risk
GI542 - Information Assurance Management and Analytics
