Military, First Responders and Federal Discounts

Norwich University Online offers a discounted tuition rate of $550/credit hour for Graduate degrees for the following:

• Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard Military Servicemembers (includes NATO) 
• Veterans 
• Spouses of Military Servicemembers and Veterans 
• First Responders 
• Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service 
• Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration 
• U.S. Department of Health and Human Services 
• U.S. Department of Homeland Security 
• U.S. Department of the Interior 
• National Security Agency

The $550 rate per credit applies to all online master's programs and graduate certificates, with the exception of the Teaching and Learning Certificate.

Norwich University Online offers discounted tuition rate of $250/credit hour for Undergraduate degrees for the following:

• Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard Military Servicemembers
• Veterans
• Spouses of Military Servicemembers and Veterans 
• First Responders

To verify eligibility for this rate, applicants must provide the following documents:

Military: Joint Services Transcript (JST) that lists current status, STP/SURF/BIR/ERB/ORB.

Veteran:  Submit the most recently issued Member-4 DD-214 or NGB-22, a discharge or retirement certificate or VA service letter. If necessary, a copy of a DD-214 can be requested from the National Archives website. Students submitting a DD-214 or an NGB-22 must have a Character of Service of “Honorable”, “General”, or “Under Honorable Conditions.”

EMTs and Paramedics: State License, unexpired EMT or Paramedic Certification issued within the past 48 months, or ID Card with name and title.

Firefighters: Firefighter Certification issued within the past 48 months, ID card with name and title, or an unexpired Membership Card.

Law Enforcement Officers: Valid ID card with name and title, Pay Stub that shows their occupational title, or LEO Certification issued within the past 48 months. Federal Law Enforcement can use an SF-50.

911 Dispatchers: ID Card with name and title or a 911 Dispatcher Certification issued within the past 48 months.

Active Duty, Guard, and Reserve Spouses: Documentation verifying marriage (marriage license or other legal documentation verifying marriage*) AND a copy of your spouse's active military orders (active duty orders, PCS orders), STP/SURF/BIR/ERB/ORB).

Uniformed NATO Military Forces:  Norwich University provides a discounted tuition rate which will apply to all currently serving uniformed NATO military forces of the Alliance. Proof of current military service is required in the form of your military service record, statement of service letter, or your enlistment contract.

Federal Employees: Must provide SF-50 form.

STATUS DEFINITIONS:

First Responder: A person with specialized training who is among the first to arrive and provide assistance or incident resolution at the scene of an emergency, such as an accident, disaster, medical emergency, structure fire, crime, or terrorist attack. Includes law enforcement officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and career firefighters.

Military Status: Current servicemember (Active, Guard, and Reserve).

Veteran Status: A veteran is a former member of the Armed Forces of the United States who served on active duty and was discharged under conditions, which were other than dishonorable.  Norwich will extend the discount to former members of the National Guard and Reserve Component without qualifying active-duty service if they were discharged under conditions, which were other than dishonorable.  

Military Spouse: Legal spouse of current servicemember (Active, Guard, and Reserve).
