I have been promoted to the job that I wanted but didn’t think I could have the opportunity to get previously.
Q: “Tell us about yourself and professional experience.”
A: "I’ve lived in Vermont for the last decade. I’m originally from Toronto, Canada. I enjoy running and cooking. I graduated from the University of New Brunswick with my bachelor of nursing in 2005 and immediately went to work at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vermont. In 2007 I started working in inpatient psychiatry and in 2012 became a clinical nurse leader on the inpatient psychiatric unit in Springfield Hospital. Currently, I am the director of that same psychiatric unit. I was promoted to the position while I was working on my master’s degree at Norwich. I have known since I was an undergraduate that I wanted to get a master’s degree. I would have done it much earlier but was held back by financing."
Q: “Why did you choose Norwich?”
A: "I compared the Norwich curriculum to that of several other universities and found that I could tailor the experiential learning component to the job I wished to get."
Q: “How have you grown personally or professionally since completing your coursework and degree?”
A: "I have been promoted to the job that I wanted but didn’t think I could have the opportunity to get previously. This is a job I have been turned down for in the past, but now I have gotten it, and that is thanks in part to Norwich University."
