Bachelor of Science in Leadership
Nobody is promoted for being good at being led. This is the degree in the part of the job that is not technical: deciding under pressure, carrying a team through a change nobody asked for, and being the person a room looks at.
Whether you are starting, changing direction, or already managing people, leadership is the whole subject here rather than one module of a management degree.
You start with the foundations and the theories, which sounds academic and is not: knowing why a given approach works in one situation and fails in another is the difference between a manager with instincts and a manager with judgment. From there you choose fifteen credits from across leadership: cultural competence, global leadership, leadership styles and emotional intelligence, and more.
It finishes with the Leadership Capstone, where you identify a real leadership problem, research it, build a strategic response, and present it publicly to peers, faculty, or industry professionals. You leave with something you have defended out loud, which is the right way to end a leadership degree.
Norwich has been training leaders since 1819 and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
