Frank P. Tona is currently a Sergeant with the Charles County, Maryland Sheriff's Office where he's been employed since 2002. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is a full service police agency that serves about one hundred sixty thousand residents. The county is twenty-five miles south of Washington, DC and sixty miles south of Baltimore, MD. He is presently assigned to his agency's Criminal Investigations Division and has collateral duties as a Team Leader with the Hostage Negotiations Team.

Frank obtained an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Brockport in Criminal Justice and a graduate degree in Public Administration from Norwich University. He is presently a Board Member with the Mid-Atlantic Cold Case Homicide Investigator's Association, and served as Vice President of his department's labor union, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #24 from 2007 to 2013. He has professional affiliations with the Northeast Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the International Association for Identification, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. He is a Fellow at the Police Foundation in Washington, DC and also an adjunct faculty member at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and at the University of Maryland-University College.
