Cailen Wattenbarger-Baker, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CNE is the Lead Faculty for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and a Certified Nurse Educator. She has been in a teaching or higher education leadership role since 2014. In her role as the Lead Faculty, Cailen provides academic and administrative leadership for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner track offered by the School of Nursing and delivered by the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies. 

At previous universities, Cailen has held past roles as department chair, associate professor, clinical faculty, and adjunct faculty. In addition to her nursing experience in mental health/substance use disorders and nursing education, Cailen has experience in working in acute care nursing staff education and competency and critical care nursing. Cailen holds a DNP in Organizational Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University, a post-graduate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Maryville University of Saint Louis, an MSN (Nursing Administration), BSN and ADN from Eastern Kentucky University. Cailen is passionate about serving underserved populations and educating the next generation of the nursing workforce.
