I use the skills and knowledge I learned every day as a teacher and coach.

Q: “Tell us about yourself.”
A: “I am the youngest in the family (two siblings, both UCONN graduates). I have many friends on the men's rugby team, and my interests include outdoor pursuits and fitness. I am currently a physical education teacher at North Country Union High School in Newport, Vermont, and an assistant football and wrestling coach at this high school.”

Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A: “I enjoy athletics, being active, and helping people grow physically, cognitively, and socially.”

Q: “What are your future professional plans?”
A: “I plan to continue my career at North Country and try to expand and advocate for more outdoor education programs like the one I am affiliated with in the state of Vermont. I also want to become certified in strength and conditioning and take over that coaching position in the next five years at North Country. "

Q: “Why did you choose Norwich?”
A: “I grew up in Vermont before moving to Connecticut as a kid, so going to school in Vermont felt natural. Some of my friends from high school went to Norwich; I visited them and really liked the close-knit community and culture Norwich offers. Norwich was also a place where I could play both football and rugby, which was a bonus. Ultimately, meeting the professors, coaches, and other students was a major part of this decision. I did very well during my undergrad at Norwich and received the NU distinguished scholar award, and it was a no-brainer from there.”

Q: “Prior to beginning your courses, what were some of your expectations for an online degree program?”
A: “Asynchronous online courses provide you with autonomy, which is a blessing, yet you need to hold yourselves accountable. But I knew this from the start, so it was not a difficult transition.”

Q: “What is one piece of advice you would give to future students enrolling in one of Norwich's online programs?”
A: “If it makes sense financially, it is a great program.”

Q: “What has been your biggest personal or professional success since starting your degree?”
A: “I received a great starting education job in August 2024.”

Q: “Please tell us about a time when you could put your knowledge gained in the classroom to work immediately at your job.”
A: “I use the skills and knowledge I learned every day as a teacher and coach.”
