Tracey Poirier began working at Norwich University in 2007 and has served as the Director of Annual Giving and the Director of the International Center. She is currently employed as the Assistant Vice President for Leadership and Student Experience at Norwich where she also instructs classes in anthropology. She is responsible for the Leadership and Life Skills Development of the whole student body (both military and civilian) as well of Career Services, the Center for Civic Engagement, the Shaw Outdoor Center and all of Student Activities on campus.  She graduated from Norwich University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communications. She went on to complete her graduate education at Oxford University in England as a Rhodes Scholar earning two Master’s degrees, one in Anthropology and one in Human Resource Management.

A former Marine Corps Public Affairs Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Poirier is also an actively serving member of the Vermont Army National Guard currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Joint Force Headquarters in Colchester. Prior to her current assignment she served as the Commander of the Brigade Support Battalion for the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and attended the Army War College in Carlisle, PA where she was a distinguished graduate of the Carlisle Scholars Program earning a Master’s of Strategic Studies. She has just recently returned from a deployment in Northern Iraq with the Joint Special Operations Command.
