Q: “Tell us about yourself.”
A: "I am recently retired, live on the west coast of Canada, and am pursuing my passions of golf, sailing, and outdoor activities. After 25 years in the Canadian army, I worked in the private sector, recently retiring as CFO of a financial services company.”

Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A: “I have long been interested in history, particularly military history. Norwich’s military history program allowed me to pursue those interests. Having greatly enjoyed the Norwich program, I am currently exploring a research-based PhD program.”

Q: “Why did you choose Norwich?”
A: “I chose the Norwich program after considering several factors, including its reputation for academic rigor, its longstanding relationship with the U.S. military, and the program’s flexibility. I was also impressed by the wide course offering, the ability to select courses that met my interests, and the availability of a thesis option.”

Q: “Prior to beginning your courses, what were some of your expectations for an online degree program?”
A: “I expected to be academically challenged during the program by faculty and other students, and the high degree of interaction fulfilled my very high expectations. The academic requirements were appropriately demanding, the faculty was first-rate, and my fellow students brought shared interests and tremendous experience to the discussions. Attending Norwich was a great decision.”

Q: “What has been your biggest personal or professional success since starting your degree?”
A: “Besides sharpening my academic abilities, the program provided me with great satisfaction in completing its requirements. Throughout the course of my studies, Norwich offered support and encouragement and challenged me to excel.”

Q: “What aspects of your Norwich experience will you carry most strongly with you?”
A: “While all aspects of the program were excellent, the most prominent takeaway was the genuine interest of the faculty in seeing students achieve their goals. I am grateful for their support and willingness to challenge me to do my best work.”

Q: “What advice would you give future students enrolling in one of Norwich’s online programs?”
A: “The academic program is rigorous and requires ongoing contributions regarding assignments and weekly discussion forums. Students must be well-organized to meet the program requirements and draw the most out of the program.”
