About
Matthew Boyne is a pilot and educator by background, serving as a Naval Aviator flying F/A-18s, commanding squadrons and training commands.
While on active duty, he flew world-wide and deployed to multiple combat operations in the Persian Gulf and North Arabian Sea. He was trained as a Master Instructor, Operational and Strategic Planner, as well as to work with the development of the Navy's command leadership course. He has been teaching online at Norwich University and onsite at Point Loma Nazarene University since 2007 when he left active service. He has a doctorate in adult education and learning technologies from Pepperdine University. His research focuses upon Clayton Christensen's Disruptive Innovation, and the use of Action Learning for online learning and leadership development. When not flying or teaching he works with schools and universities integrating online methods into traditional classes to give students 24/7 access.
