Cara Rash has been teaching Environmental Science for the Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis Undergraduate program at Norwich University since the spring of 2018. Prior to this assignment she taught an introductory Environmental Science course, and wrote and taught a Capstone Sustainability course at the University of Maryland at College Park. Prior to her transition into academia, she worked the majority of her career in the Federal Government.  Most of that time was spent at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Headquarters in Washington, D.C. She supported a number of different programs during her tenure including: the Clean Water State Revolving Fund which assists states with water infrastructure projects, the Superfund program as well as the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. After moving to Philadelphia, she worked for the General Services Administration as a Contract Specialist assisting various federal agencies with building and improving upon their existing structures. Most recently, she worked with a software start up focused on college level reporting and career data.  She assisted the company with training college counselors on how to utilize the platform, built training materials for their use and helped create a help desk to better assist customers.

She received her B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy and a citation in Environmental Studies from the University of Maryland at College Park, as well as her M.S. in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins University.

When she is not working, she loves spending time with her husband, two young children and friends. She loves tending her vegetable garden, exercising, traveling to new places and reading.
