Taylor Bergeron profile

Norwich's professors are some of the best people I have dealt with. They are extremely professional but also care about your development and success.

Q: “Tell us about yourself.”
A: “I am an engineer captain in the Vermont Army National Guard as a battalion logistics officer for an engineer battalion. I am married with a 6 year old son living in Essex, VT. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, jiu jitsu, and all outdoor activities. I originally was in corporate finance before recently going full-time in the Vermont Army National Guard.”

Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A: “I felt the need to further my education to help progress my career and eventually own my own business.. I will remain AGR in the Vermont Army National Guard until I retire.”

Q: “Why did you choose Norwich?”
A: “Being in the Vermont Army National Guard, we have several soldiers who attend Norwich University. I also grew up playing hockey in the area and skated there several times. Eventually, I played against them in college and am very familiar with the school. The reputation, history, and full online ability drew me to the MBA program.”

Q: “Did you have any uncertainties with choosing an online program?”
A: I was concerned with the stigma of getting your degree online. Knowing Norwich's reputation, I had no doubts that it would be challenging and widely accepted. The expectations for an online program were just as high as those at Norwich—several weekly discussions, individual assignments, team assignments, quizzes etc. Norwich’s online program gives you just as good of an education as any other university, but without disrupting the flow of your current life.”

Q: “What has been your biggest personal or professional success since starting your degree?”
A: “My biggest personal and professional success has been my confidence in my knowledge. Going through the MBA program allowed me to build my confidence by proving I know more than I think I do.”

Q: “Please tell us about a time when you could put your knowledge gained in the classroom to work immediately at your job.”
A: “Leading change in an organization is probably the most valuable class that I have been able to apply several lessons from to my career as a captain in the Vermont Army National Guard.”

Q: “What aspects of your Norwich experience will you carry most strongly with you?”
A: “The aspects of my Norwich experience that I will carry with me are the professionalism and camaraderie of the students and professors. Norwich's professors are some of the best people I have dealt with. They are extremely professional but also care about your development and success.”
