As I debated online with my Norwich classmates, I simultaneously began to have my students do the same. I can say that it truly expanded my approach to teaching.

We’d first like to know a little more about you…

"I am the daughter of a US Navy chaplain and spent my childhood moving to new spots along the east coast, and even in England. Therefore, after I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 2003 with a B.A. in history I decided to lay down my roots in one place. I've lived in San Diego for thirteen years and have been teaching American History at a creative and performing arts school for the past decade. After my father completed his M.A. in military history from Norwich University in 2015, he encouraged me to take do the same. His admiration for the program was the incentive I needed to return to academia."

Now we’d like to know how you chose Norwich and what makes it unique.

"As an educator, I believe that it is important to be a genuine professional in your field. When choosing a graduate program I decided that Norwich would provide me with not only the flexibility that I needed to continue teaching while I pursued my degree, but also the rigor that I expected from graduate-level coursework. In that respect, Norwich met both my needs and expectations!"

"Throughout my master's program, I was able to apply the information and skills that I learned in my online classes to my high school classroom. Not only was I able to speak more in-depth during lectures and class discussions, I also found myself encouraging my students to consider different interpretations of historical events. As I debated online with my Norwich classmates, I simultaneously began to have my students do the same. I can say that it truly expanded my approach to teaching."
