Angela Pashayan
I am constantly working on projects in the UAE, Africa, Asia, and the U.S. and was able to put my knowledge to work immediately, particularly in cross-cultural communication and negotiation styles.
Q: “Tell us a bit about yourself – your family and interests.”A: “I live in beautiful Telluride, Colorado, with my husband and three sons. I love to ski in the winter and hike in the summer. My interests are people, culture, and travel – ever since I was 10! I never knew where it would lead me, though it became clear 15 years ago.”
Q: “Briefly describe your professional life.”A: “I own and operate a non-profit 501 that takes projects from paper to reality. These projects include humanitarian work, business conferences, wellness festivals, and awareness retreats for individuals and corporations.”
Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”A: “My motivation for pursuing my degree came from my eldest son who told me, 'You have been doing international relations for years. Why not get a degree to back up your experience?' As a result of getting my master's with Norwich, I am ready to continue for my PhD and plan to do so in four years when my children are all in college.”
Q: “What makes Norwich unique?”A: “Norwich is unique due to its historical military background. Where better could one attend to learn about international relations and diplomacy than a university actively steeped in such work? Other universities cannot teach from this vantage point.”
Q: “How have you grown personally or professionally as a result of your education?”A: “My experience in the field can now be partnered with theory and strategic thinking. I have certainly grown professionally from the program at Norwich.”
Q: “Please tell about any examples where you were able to put your knowledge to work immediately at your job.”A: “I am constantly working on projects in the UAE, Africa, Asia, and the U.S. and was able to put my knowledge to work immediately, particularly in cross-cultural communication and negotiation styles.”
Q: “What aspects of your Norwich experience will you carry most strongly with you?”A: “I will carry experiences from all of my classes at Norwich with me, yet I must note that international law was most intriguing. The professor was great and involved the class in unique projects.”
