Norwich students, alumni, and faculty work for diverse organizations in a wide variety of fields, but they all share one thing in common: industriousness. Explore this section to learn about their professional and civic accomplishments – and tell us about your own.
MBA alumnus Jason Vitug has encountered much success since graduating from Norwich in 2007. Most recently, he authored and released two books, Crowdfunding A Bootrapped Startup: The Story of How We Hacked Our Way to Success (July, 2014) and You Only Live Once: the Roadmap to Financial Wellness and a Purposeful Life (June 2016). Shortly after receiving his MBA degree, he was recruited to join the executive team of a Silicon Valley financial institution as vice president of business development. In just over three years there, he championed the company from a $65 million regional branch into a $120 million national virtual financial institution. An avid promoter of financial literacy, Vitug has given lectures nationwide on financial motivation and capability. In 2010, he was recognized for his efforts by a member of President Bush's Council on Financial Literacy. Vitug switched gears in 2012 and backpacked around the world, visiting 20 countries in 12 months. Along the journey, he donated books and clothing to villages in Southeast Asia. In 2013, he began building the company Phroogal, a crowd-sourced site on financial information designed to help people share knowledge, discover new tools, and connect with money-savvy peers and experts.
