Ian Brown, a 2015 alumni of Norwich University's Master of Arts in Military History program, recieved honorable mention accolades for his paper titled "John Boyd, Maneuver Warfare, and the Marine Corps’ Search for Meaning" at the 11th annual Cold War Essay Contest presented by the John A. Adams ’71 Center for Military History & Strategic Analysis at the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Va.
While a student at Norwich Brown presented his paper titled “Getting the Barbican: Enniskillen as a Case Study in Riverine Amphibious Warfare,” in the SMH section of the Missouri Valley History Conference in March 2015.
In August 2016, Brown was published in the Marine Corps Gazette with his article titled "Warfighting 3.0."
