Donna Bennett was recently named to D.C.'s Top 50 Women in Tech 2016 list for her work as new chief information security officer (CISO) for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, she was named to the position in 2014. In a recent project, she led a team in conducting penetration tests for FEMA's regional program offices in order to test security and fix holes in the network. Bennett serves as the division chief for the Office of Information Assurance and is responsible for all aspects of the agency’s information security program in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act and subordinate regulations. Prior to taking on the role of CISO, she served as the National Defense University’s senior information assurance officer and held several high-level positions at the Defense Department, including a stint as information assurance portfolio manager for European Command and Africa Command.
