Norwich students, alumni, and faculty work for diverse organizations in a wide variety of fields, but they all share one thing in common: industriousness. Explore this section to learn about their professional and civic accomplishments – and tell us about your own.
Bill Edson, a 2013 graduate of Norwich's Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program, has applied many of the leadership skills he developed to his profession and to his community. He recently led the successful expansion of Middlebury Regional Emergency and Medical Services (MREMS) in Middlebury, VT, from a small-town rescue squad to a multifaceted nonprofit healthcare corporation. During this complex transformation, many methods of organizational leadership were put into practice that not only were essential elements to the organization's transformation, but also helped MREMS earn the Addison County Chamber of Commerce 2012 'Community Business of the Year' award along the way. Edson has also joined the Middlebury College athletics department as assistant coach for the Cross Country and Track and Field programs. He will be presenting a lecture and workshop during the college's J-term winter session entitled, "From the Front line to the Finish line - Life Lesson Principles on being an Effective Leader.” He will share academic principles of leadership in the context of his vast leadership experiences as a U.S. Army senior non-commissioned officer, corporate executive, and athletics coach. Edson believes many of his recent successes are directly attributed to his studies at Norwich University and what his degree has introduced to his professional life.
