Q: “Tell us about yourself and professional experience."
A: "I was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. Raised in the U.S since the age of 11 years old. I received my undergraduate degree in Information Security and Assurance from Kennesaw State University located in Kennesaw, GA. While not working, I enjoy learning about new technologies, riding my motorcycle, hiking, and going to the gym. I can also speak fluently in three different languages. I have 12 years of doing various IT and IT security-related work in many different industries such as Higher Education, Healthcare, FinTech, and E-commerce. I also have expertise in regulatory compliance in areas such as HIPAA, FERPA, SOX, and PCI. I currently work at Emory University and Emory Healthcare as a senior enterprise information security risk and compliance specialist."

Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A: "To advance my career and to become a future leader in the cybersecurity industry."

Q: "Why did you choose Norwich?"
A: "I did my online research for the best grad school within my major and Norwich University came out to be at the top of the list. In addition, I love the fact that the MSISA program is offered 100% online. Norwich is unique to me because I loved the fact that all my professors called me directly at the beginning of each semester to get to know me and answered all my questions that I had regarding the program. Due to small class sizes, it feels good to know that my professors know me by my name and that I am not just a number in the class."

Q: “How have you grown personally or professionally since completing your coursework and degree?”
A: "With the knowledge that I have gained from my classroom, I was able to immediately put my skills towards my job by being able to conduct proper risk assessments. I compared the perceived cyber-threats to actual controls so that I could identify gaps that result in some type of residual risk(s). In addition, by creating a proper documenting procedure provides the organization with transparency within the risk management process, which is paramount for the organization to address risks properly and to appropriately strategize future organizational business needs."

Q: “What aspects of your Norwich education will you carry most strongly with you?”
A: "The aspects of my Norwich experience that I will carry the most strongly with me is the Norwich Motto, “I will try.” I will give my 100% in everything that I do in life. Life has its ups and down, sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. However, Norwich has taught me to give it a try, take the first step, be a leader. Norwich University has made me stronger into believing in myself and never give up on my dreams!"
