Q:  “Sharon, tell us a little about yourself, your family and interests.”
A:  “I’ve been married for 25 years and am the mother of three daughters so I live in a house full of fluff.  I enjoy wine, volleyball, food, softball and golf.”

Q:  “Tell us about where you live.”
A:  “I live in the Southeast corner of Washington State. It’s great wine country, mostly desert like but with easy access to mountains and rivers.”

Q:  “Who is your current employer, and briefly describe your professional life?”
A:  “I’m a contractor to D.O.E (Department of Energy) at the National Lab. Currently I am working in safeguards and security.”    

Q:  “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A:  “It was a personal goal.  It’s also for career growth potential.”

Q:  “Why did you choose Norwich and how did you learn about it?”
A:  “I was looking for a somewhat technical degree that aligned with cyber security. I did an Internet search for a Master’s of Science in Information Assurance, read up on school, and liked its history and accreditations.”

Q:  “What makes Norwich unique?
A: “It’s well regarded, and its history make Norwich unique. The instructors for my program are well known SMEs and working professionals, not purely pursuing academic careers.  The value of real-life work place experience cannot be underestimated.”

Q:  “What aspect of Norwich will you carry most strongly with you?”
A:  “My colleagues and the strong emphasis on writing.”

Q:  “Please tell me about any examples you have about putting knowledge to work immediately in your organization.”
A:  “Risk assessments.  We seem to struggle getting heads around this beast [at my company], but things I’ve learned at Norwich are going to help us break it down into manageable steps.”

Q:   “Anything else you would like to tell us about your experiences at Norwich or the impact of Norwich on your life?”
A:  “Check back in a few years.  I’ve always had a job and often a good job - that is, well paid, challenging and flexible - but now my with my master's degree I am going to start my career!”
