Q: “Tell us a bit about yourself, Melissa.”
A: “I live in Stockbridge, Vermont with my two sons, Christian and Keanan, and have a menagerie of pets!”
Q: “What is your current employer and briefly describe your professional life.”
A: “I work for the Veterans Administration Medical Center as the veteran’s health education and clinical education coordinator. I am also the palliative care lead for VA New England Health Care System.”
Q: “What was your motivation for pursuing your degree?”
A: “My children were nearly grown; I was entering a new phase of my life and career, and I felt that I needed to prepare. It was also time to do something that was just for me. It was a self-care really.”
Q: “What makes Norwich unique?”
A: “Its long and distinguished reputation.”
Q: “How have you grown professionally or personally as a result of your education?”
A: “I rarely admit to feeling proud of myself, but I feel this is a great accomplishment.”
Q: “Have you been able to put your knowledge to work immediately in your career?”
A: “I work in education services at my facility, so I use what I’ve learned every day, from planning lessons and revising program curriculum to writing training objectives.”
Q: “What aspects of your Norwich experience will you carry most strongly with you?”
A: “The confidence I’ve gained in myself and the knowledge that I am really smart and strong.”
