Jennifer Brown

, Class of 2012
My MBA education has allowed me to approach senior management with confidence and outline how I feel a process will be improved, with their input and sign off, because I understand how the theory works and I’m more prepared to speak out.
Jennifer Brown, Class of 2012

Q:  “Jennifer, tell us a little about you.”
A:  “I was born and raised in Vermont. I love to travel, read, and would love to read books for a living.   I’ve been married for 13 years and have two kids who are seven and four. I love to cook and spend time with family.”

Q:  “Who is your current employer, describe your work there?”
A:  “I work for Eating Well Media Group. For the past 6 years, my role is Manager of Production and Custom Publishing. I interface with the editorial teams, creative teams, and web teams, and business development teams to plan and execute printed and web deliverables of our recipes and content licensing.

Q:  “What makes Norwich unique?”
A:  “Being out of school for 15 years, I am so impressed with the level of intelligence and commitment that the educators have, and with the people who have been accepted into the program because of their work ethic and determination. The support structure is evident and we all help each other out. It is amazing how you can make friends with people here.”

Q:  “Please tell us any memorable experiences with faculty members of members of your cohort.”
A:  “My core team members are three of the most amazing people I have met. When we split up and began our concentrations, it was a sadness that I wouldn’t be working with them anymore. I haven’t experienced this in the work world, but only the private world.”

Q:  “How have you grown professionally as a result of your education?”
A: “I understand the theory more and it’s actually allowed me to approach senior management with confidence and outline how I feel a process will be improved, with their input and sign off, because I understand how the theory works and I’m more prepared to speak out.”

Q:  “How have you grown personally as a result of your education?”
A:  “I know that I can push myself now. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been rewarding. Coming through the ugly and surviving and knowing you can do it. I put myself through grad school and got my MBA and I did it because I wanted to do it – not for anyone but because I wanted to further my education and despite the hardships and challenges it’s doable. If I can do it, you can do it!”
