The Lord’s Resistance Army

The purpose of the paper is to shed light on the current conflict in Uganda involving the Government of Uganda and the Lord Resistance Army (LRA). Over the years, the LRA and its leader Joseph Kony have been perceived as the sole cause of a conflict that has devastated lives of many in the north of Uganda. Invisible Children’s movie, “Kony 2012,” has depicted the group and narrates the conflict, in a way that was not totally complete. Thus, the intent of this paper is to show a more balanced image. This paper asks for a viable and sustainable solution, based on concrete evidence, and provides a fair assessment of the history.
