Broaden Your Perspective of Domestic and Global Issues

The demand for skilled national security professionals has never been greater – tasked with protecting the United States from threats ranging from hurricanes to terrorists attacks. The field needs individuals with strong critical thinking, management and problem-solving skills who can anticipate potential problems and prepare plans to manage them.

Norwich University’s online Bachelor of Science in National Security Studies program builds upon the education and experience of Combat Arms and Combat support personnel in the military, law enforcement personnel, and members of the intelligence community. The program can help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to meet the needs of employers in the private and public sectors, including those in the United States’ intelligence community and the Department of Homeland Security.

The national security studies curriculum balances general education and core courses (many of which can be fulfilled through transfer credits) with elective and project-based courses that allow students to focus on national security and intelligence activities impacting the United States. All courses are designed to hone key skills in research and analysis, decision-making, leadership, and communication, helping prepare students for advanced opportunities within their current career or in transitioning to a new role in the private or public sector.
