As criminal behavior on the global landscape becomes more complex than ever before, adaptive and skilled criminal justice leaders are needed to help keep our country and our allies safe. Norwich University has a longstanding history of preparing leaders and promoting career advancement. Now, we apply our expertise, resources, and deep knowledge of future needs of the military to our new Master of Science in Criminal Justice program.
Our program is open to Norwich graduates and graduates of the U.S. Army Military Police School Captains Career Course (MPCCC) who seek the in-demand skills and knowledge needed to ascend the ranks of the branch and effectively work in collaboration with foreign military and law enforcement personnel on transnational crime issues. The program also provides an opportunity for graduates to transition to leadership positions in federal, local, or private law enforcement or security.
The curriculum complements existing experience and training with coursework that addresses the theory, practice, and methods of criminal justice. Applied learning develops practical skills in leadership, management, research and analysis. The program also delivers vital context and historical perspective of the current criminal justice landscape through in-depth study of related areas such as international law and non-U.S. law enforcement systems, organizations and challenges.
Our students benefit from the expertise of our distinguished faculty members who are accomplished academics and leaders in the criminal justice and related fields, as well as from the differing perspectives and experiences their classmates bring from Norwich’s other graduate programs, such as international relations and public administration.
A master’s degree from Norwich University is highly valued. Our proud history as the nation’s first private military college and our long-standing, unparalleled commitment to public service set our programs apart in academia – and our graduates apart in the professional world.
