Happy Thanksgiving!

The holiday season officially kicks off this week with Thanksgiving, which also marks the conclusion of our fall master’s courses. On behalf of the entire College of Graduate and Continuing Studies team let me offer sincere wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving! Congratulations to all of our students and faculty for continued success in your Norwich University programs, and words of encouragement for our degree completion students currently enrolled in fall courses. Special congratulations are in order to all of our students who have finished their degree requirements and will be awarded a master’s degree in December. Congratulations to all for a job well done!

Last week I had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala with Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Guiyou Huang and MBA Program Director Dr. Jose Cordova. Our itinerary included a visit to the Universidad Francisco Marroquin (UFM) in Guatemala City, the newly formed Escuela de Gobierno, several major international businesses and military leaders. I am pleased to report the Norwich University signed an agreement to work with UFM to develop several areas of collaboration for student and faculty exchange opportunities as well as potential collaboration for our online programs, particularly with the MBA programs at our respective institutions. I look forward to writing more about these opportunities as they are developed in the coming year and anticipate a productive relationship with UFM and new partners in Guatemala.

I normally suggest that we get back to work and hit the books, but at least for the remainder of Thanksgiving week it’s time to relax! Campus is quiet and winter seems to have arrived early this year so a nice day by the fire is in order. Happy Thanksgiving!
