Norwich University's online bachelor's programs named among the best for 2016 by US News & World Report

US News & World Report has called Norwich University’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs “one of the best” in its 2016 rankings of online programs.

Established in 1997 with the launch of its first online master’s degree program in diplomacy and military science, the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS) through its online delivery platform, Norwich University Online, extends the Norwich academic model to over 1,600 students – working adults in the military, public and private sectors, and lifelong learners from around the world. The first online bachelor’s degree program was offered in 2009 and has grown to include five programs – Criminal Justice, Cyber Security, Interdisciplinary Studies, Management Studies, and Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis. 

US News ranked Norwich’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs in the top 25 percent of all programs listed. Driving that ranking were high marks in student services and technology critical to active military and working adults. Our programs are facilitated by faculty with high credentials and trained to teach online learners.

To accommodate students’ busy schedules and lives, Norwich provides a student services staff dedicated to individual students from enrollment through graduation, and 24/7 access and technical support to its online learning platform, enabling anytime-anywhere learning.

Of particular note from the 2016 US News rankings:

  • Norwich’s online bachelor’s degree completion programs were ranked 72nd out of 300 schools, or in the top 25 percent. The online bachelor’s programs included in the 2016 rankings were the Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies and Defense and Analysis, and the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
    • This ranking takes into account the following areas: student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and student services and technology.
    • For student services and technology, the online bachelor’s programs were ranked in the top 5%.
