Norwich University names Marcus Popiolek associate vice president

Norwich University is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcus Popiolek as associate vice president overseeing marketing and enrollment management of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies (CGCS), effective Oct. 18, 2021.

In this role, Popiolek will oversee and lead CGCS’ admissions, enrollment, advising and retention management activities to strengthen enrollment, improve student success and reinforce the institution’s tradition and focus. Popiolek will oversee the business development strategy to create scholarship and transfer credit pathways into Norwich’s online undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and Norwich Pro’s ® professional development programs and will expand Norwich’s online offerings through improved marketing and communications.

“I am proud to welcome Marcus Popiolek as the associate vice president,” Norwich University Vice President and CGCS Dean Bill Clements said. “Popiolek brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education marketing and enrollment, and I look forward to his expertise reflecting positive change and growth at CGCS.”

Before becoming associate vice president at Norwich, Popiolek served as the executive director of marketing, communications and public affairs at the Oregon Institute of Technology, creating communication and marketing plans to impact enrollment initiatives. Before joining the Oregon Institute of Technology, he spent 16 years as the marketing and communications director at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Popiolek holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Central Michigan University.
