Bicentennial Campaign - Year of Leadership

We continue our countdown to our bicentennial celebration in 2019! We recently kicked off our third year in our Forging the Future Bicentennial Campaign – the Year of Leadership. For nearly 200 years, Norwich has been a leader in innovative education, with experiential learning at its core. We have helped students to develop the skills and values required to lead others and tackle real world challenges with character and integrity.

At the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, we have leaders making a difference everyday – from our faculty and staff to our students and alumni. Everyone has a story to tell and an experience to share. Dr. Stacie Morgan, program director for our Master of Science in Leadership and Master of Science in Executive Leadership programs, along with one of our faculty members, Michelle Manganaro, presented a paper at the Association of Leadership Educators conference in San Diego, CA earlier this year. Capturing the essence of Norwich leadership and values, this paper, titled “Teaching and Learning Leadership: Assessing Teams in Higher Education,” was recently published in the Journal of Leadership Education.

Each year in the Bicentennial Campaign is meant to share and highlight Norwich's core values. In order to continue to offer the best education possible to help our students become stronger leaders and innovators, the Forging the Future campaign is about telling the Norwich story and engaging our community. Announced at the beginning of the five-year bicentennial celebration, Norwich has a fundraising goal of $100 million, of which more than $74 million has been achieved. For the students and alumni of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, this campaign can be used toward course development and enhancements, new program and educational offerings, and scholarships. Additionally, there are many events taking place across the country to help celebrate our bicentennial – be sure to watch your email for events in your area and come out to celebrate Norwich University!
